Our Story

Seasalt Baking Co. was born out of quarantine during the 2020 Pandemic as a way to bring joy during such an unsettling time. Baking has always been a passion of mine, aided by the fact that I grew up in a family of exceptional bakers. My grandma and her sister started a bakery business 50 years ago in the Philippines, and named it Goldilocks Bake Shop, somehow they must have known that their story would play out like a fairytale. What began as a hobby for them has since become an International business with over 500 stores worldwide.

During quarantine I baked and researched recipes, some of them old recipes from my grandmother’s personal handwritten cookbooks. With all this time at home, like many others, I baked and brought care packages of cookies and breads to friends and neighbors. It was then that I saw that such a simple act could bring a smile to someones face. Seasalt Baking Co. was born to do exactly that. A portion or sales is always donated to local charities. In the first week alone, Seasalt Baking Co. was able to donate $600 and 100 cookies to Bridgeport Rescue Mission, whose goal is to feed the hungry in our community.

Aside from being the founder, owner and head baker of Seasalt Baking Co., I’m also a wife and mom, a California girl living in Connecticut and an overall cookie lover. After graduating from UCLA, I started my career by joining the family business. I worked in marketing at Goldilocks Bake Shop and then moved my focus to designing and selling wedding cakes. I left to work in merchandising at Williams-Sonoma where I was on the Food buying team. It was there that I learned the true value of premium ingredients. Every cookie is made from scratch, baked to order using only the most premium ingredients like Ghirardelli chocolate (a nod to my hometown), Nielsen-Massey vanilla and European butter and delivered conveniently to your door. Whether it is a simple treat for your family or a gift to celebrate a birthday or milestone, I hope that it brings a smile to your face.
